Technology procurement in Adelaide

Buying technology shouldn't mean hours of research, confusing specs and a nagging feeling you picked the wrong thing. We handle procurement for Adelaide businesses — sourcing hardware, software and licensing that fits your needs, your budget and your existing setup, so you get it right the first time.

What is technology procurement?

Technology procurement is the process of sourcing, evaluating and purchasing the IT hardware, software and licences your business needs. Done well, it means the right gear at the right price, properly matched to your requirements and compatible with everything else you run. Done badly, it means overspending, underspec'd machines, licensing traps and gear that doesn't play nicely with your network. We take the guesswork out and handle the lot.

What we cover

Hardware sourcing

Laptops, desktops, servers, networking gear and peripherals — specced to your workload and sourced from trusted suppliers.

Software & licensing

The right software and the right licence type — subscription, perpetual or volume — so you're not overpaying or under-licensed.

Vendor management

We deal with the vendors, get competitive quotes and handle the back-and-forth so you don't have to.

Compatibility checks

Every purchase checked against your existing setup — network, software, security — before you commit.

Deployment & setup

Gear delivered, configured and deployed into your environment — ready to use, not boxed and waiting.

Lifecycle planning

A view of what's due for replacement and when, so you budget ahead instead of scrambling when something dies.

Who it's for

  • Businesses without an IT team to research, compare and purchase technology properly.
  • Growing companies that need to kit out new staff or a new office quickly.
  • Organisations that have been burned by buying the wrong gear or the wrong licence and want it done right.
  • Any Adelaide business that wants someone on their side when dealing with technology vendors.

How it works

  1. Understand your needs. We find out what you need, what it's for and what it needs to work with.
  2. Research and recommend. We shortlist options, check compatibility and recommend the best fit for your budget.
  3. Quote and approve. You get a clear quote with no hidden costs. Nothing's ordered until you say go.
  4. Procure and configure. We source the gear, set it up and configure it for your environment before it reaches your desk.
  5. Deploy and support. Delivered, installed and working — with ongoing support if anything needs adjusting.

Why WaTo for technology procurement

  • We know your environment — so we buy what fits, not what's on sale.
  • Vendor-neutral sourcing — we work with multiple suppliers to get the best deal for you.
  • Adelaide owned since 2001 — local delivery, local setup, local support.
  • We handle the full lifecycle — procurement, deployment, support and eventual replacement.
  • No commissions or kickbacks driving our recommendations — just what's right for your business.

Technology procurement questions

Can you beat the price I found online?

Often, yes — especially on business-grade gear where we have supplier relationships. But more importantly, we make sure you're buying the right thing. The cheapest option isn't always the best value.

Do you only supply hardware?

No. We handle hardware, software, licensing, cloud subscriptions and peripherals. If it's technology your business needs, we can source it.

What brands do you recommend?

We're not tied to any single brand. We recommend based on your needs — HP, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, Cisco and others, depending on what's the best fit.

Can you set everything up before delivery?

Yes. We configure, image and test hardware before it reaches you, so it's ready to use out of the box — connected to your network, your email and your security.

Ready to buy technology the right way?

Tell us what you need and we'll source it properly — right spec, right price, ready to go.

No two businesses are the same — so nothing we do is off-the-shelf. Every solution is built around yours, and kept simple.

Our story

Built in Adelaide, since 2001

WaTo Consulting was founded by John Watson in Adelaide in 2001. Over two decades it's earned a name for tailored work across a wide range of industries — helping businesses of every size run more smoothly, work more efficiently and grow steadily, without blowing the budget or disrupting the day-to-day.

Emma Watson (née Dickenson) played a significant part in shaping what WaTo became. She brought real expertise and a clear vision for where it could go — expanding the business, bringing in new systems and fresh thinking, and raising the standard of how things are done. A great deal of what WaTo is, we owe to her.

Today it's all tailored, never off-the-shelf — IT & Digital, Business & Web Hosting, built around what each client actually needs. Over the years those areas have come together under one roof: our IT & Digital, Currency, Business and Web work (through Whosts.au) now all sit within WaTo Consulting — one team, one standard, looking after the lot.

When you work with us, you're not a client — you're a partner.
