New childcare centre network fit-outs in Adelaide
A new centre has one opening date and a lot of trades working towards it. We plan the technology with your builder from the drawings, run the cabling before the walls close, then install the Wi-Fi, devices, sign-in kiosks and phones so the centre works on the first morning, not the third week.

The short answer
A new centre network fit-out is the whole technology side of opening a childcare or early learning centre. WaTo Consulting in Adelaide plans data points and Wi-Fi from the building drawings, works with your builder and electrician on timing, installs the network, staff devices, iPad sign-in kiosks and phones, then tests everything and hands over a written record before opening day.
What's in a new centre fit-out?
Everything a centre needs to run that plugs in or connects. That means data cabling to the office, rooms and kiosk points, a comms cabinet, an internet service ordered early enough to be live on time, Wi-Fi that covers every room and the yard, staff tablets and office PCs, a parent sign-in kiosk, printers, phones and often CCTV and door access. The hard part isn't any single item. It's getting the timing right with the builder, the electrician and the internet provider so nothing is missed before the plaster goes up.
What we deliver
Planning from the drawings
We mark up the plans with data points, access point positions, the comms cabinet and kiosk locations, so your builder and electrician know exactly what's needed and where.
Cabling before the walls close
Data cabling run at the right stage of the build, labelled and tested, terminated into a tidy cabinet with room to grow.
Internet ordered on time
Business internet ordered weeks ahead, because new connections often take longer than the build, with a 4G or 5G backup so opening day doesn't depend on it.
Wi-Fi for rooms and the yard
Business access points placed for coverage in every room and outdoor area, with separate networks for staff devices, kiosks and visitors.
Devices ready to use
Office PCs, room tablets and the sign-in kiosk set up, locked down and managed, with your childcare software installed and staff logins ready.
Testing and handover
Every point, device and room tested before opening, and a written record of what's installed, where, and who to call.
Who it's for
- Operators opening a new childcare, early learning or kindergarten centre.
- Groups adding a centre and wanting it set up the same way as the others.
- Builders and project managers who need one technology contractor to coordinate with.
- Centres moving into a renovated building.
How the job runs
- We start with the plans. As early as possible in the build. We mark up the drawings and give you a fixed list of what's needed and what it costs.
- We order the long lead items. The internet service, comms cabinet and devices are ordered early so nothing is waiting at the end.
- We cable during the build. We work in with the builder and electrician at rough-in, then come back to fit off and test once the walls are done.
- We install and set up. Network, Wi-Fi, devices, kiosk, printers and phones, all configured and tested room by room.
- We hand it over. A walkthrough with your centre director, a written record of the setup, and support on opening week when the questions come.
Why WaTo for centre fit-outs
- We know how a centre runs, so the kiosk, room tablets and office are set up for the way educators actually work.
- One contractor for cabling, Wi-Fi, devices and phones, coordinated with your builder.
- Internet ordered early with a backup, so opening day isn't at the mercy of a provider.
- Adelaide-based since 2001, with technicians on site through the build.
- Ongoing support after opening if you want it, from the team that installed it.
Centre fit-out questions
When should we bring you into the build?
Before the electrician does rough-in, ideally while the plans are still being finalised. Adding data points once the walls are closed costs more and looks worse. If the build is already underway, call us anyway and we'll work out what can still be done cleanly.
How early do we need to order the internet?
As soon as the address exists. New connections can take weeks, and longer if the provider needs to bring a line into the building. We order it early and set up a 4G or 5G backup so the centre can open either way. See business internet and NBN.
Can you set up the parent sign-in kiosk too?
Yes. We supply and lock down the kiosk so it only runs your sign-in app, mount it where families can reach it and manage it remotely. See secure sign-in systems.
Do you do CCTV and door access as part of the fit-out?
We can, and it's easier during the build because the cabling goes in at the same time. See centre CCTV and door access.
