Did one of our security checks look at your website?
Hello, we are WaTo Consulting, an IT and website company in Adelaide. If a link brought you here, or you spotted a request from us in your server logs, one of our security checks has probably looked at your website. This page explains why, and how to reach us.
Why we did it
One of our clients asked us to check the security of the websites they depend on, and yours is one of them. It is a routine health check. We are not attacking your site and we are not trying to get in.
How to recognise us
Our tools say who they are. The User-Agent in your logs starts with WaTo- and includes a link to this page. Anything that does not match was not us.
| Tool | What it looks at |
|---|---|
WaTo-PHPcheck | The response headers your site sends, including the PHP version it announces (for example in an X-Powered-By header) and common security headers. Out-of-date PHP versions no longer get security fixes, so this is one of the most common things to check. |
Whichever tool it is, it only reads what your server hands to any visitor's browser.
What we never do
- Log in, guess passwords or try to break in.
- Read, copy or change your files, database or email.
- Send heavy traffic that could slow your site down.
You do not need to do anything. Nothing is wrong just because you are reading this.
